Maybe as an art project, Petey, your diorama would be better appreciated. As an assignment on the Industrial Revolution, your teacher was right on with her assessment.

An off-week for the Diorama generating Petey!

I don’t remember Dill being so tough on himself. I’d only go so far as “curious little goof”.

Your teacher must like you Petey, you pulled out a “Gentleman’s C-” for basically bring a pair of your shoes to school in a box for your diorama!

we had to do a project in a mythology/folklore class – i said in the beginning there was nothing and that is what i did -nothing … the class liked it the teacher not so much :(

Should of presented the empty cardboard box, just that advanced mass production and shipping of consumer products.

Why is everything a “scathing commentary” with this kid?

Petey’s concept was fine, but he should have accompanied it with a manifesto (even a brief one) explaining WHY it’s a scathing commentary on our consumer culture.

True, great art NEED NOT be explained, but sometimes original thinkers must meet their audiences halfway…

The true free thinkers never get a break. I had to make a piece of art from crushed egg shells in the seventh grade. I decided to make an egg. My teacher hated it so much she threw it away and claimed I didn’t do it.

If Petey were to write a report detailing the construction of the shoes by children not much older than he is and the slave conditions they work in he might get a better grade.

Keep trying to get your work out there, Petey. If this can happen (back in 2019) then yours has a shot too. “An Italian artist duct-taped a banana to a gallery wall in Miami as part of the Art Basel festival — and it sold for $120,000.”

Lazy can go with some high IQ individuals and also lazy slobs.
