“Helpful encouragement” that’s one way of putting it.

Many years ago my neighbor was buckling in his little girl, probably 3 or 4, to go somewhere in their van. It was snowing heavily and she piped up, "Look at the Odd Dam snow Daddy!‘’(Except she didn’t say Odd)

My wife is giving me “constructive criticism” even before we make out of the driveway!

I don’t think I’d be happy hearing a yodeling duck impression either, Alice.

And believe me, my example of fathers wasn’t great the blood one abandoned the family gave up rights to me so we wouldn’t have to pay child support, and a stepdad with continual alcoholic problems The bar for me to be a better dad wasn’t set very high.I don’t think fathers should be portrayed as father knows best type person, but at the same time society has now said it is very likely you better off without a dad. Where is the balance? I like this trip overall, but come on man!

I didn’t know ducks could yodel. I’d like to hear that, but for only 5-10 seconds and then it would have to stop.

Sheesh, dad, didn’t you know that 4 year olds are WAY more sophisticated than 3 year olds?
