“I hope she doesn’t know what I’m thinking right now,” IS what he’s thinking, which isn’t anything risqué to be thinking. Even in scatterbrains like me, our thoughts are sequential. We can’t think in parallel — the limitations of a single processing CPU. (Yes, there are multiple I/O processors running independently, but they send interruptions to the conscious processor.)
