Do you want a flying car?

No – but some idiots are welcome to drive theirs off a cliff any time.

As for jetpacks: Welcome to the Darwin Award in some cases.

We did finally get the flat-screen TV’s that Popular Mechanics predicted for 75 years!

After over 60 years of waiting, I’ve finally accepted the fact that I will never own a flying car or jetpack, but I’m now upset that the replacement bodies that Rod Serling’s original Twilight Zone introduced us to back in the day has not arrived yet. So many of us could really use one.

Temper the idea of flying cars with the knowledge of drivers’ skills. Instant population control.

Back in the 60’s “they” were promising us robots to do the kitchen work. I’m truly upset those never came to be.

a) flying cars are a terrible idea. (imagine the collisions and collateral damage) and b) the problem with jet packs is fuel – can’t carry enough fuel for any lengthy flight. and by lengthy I mean anything over ~30sec.

Face it, Peter is technology challenged.

I wanted a jetpack in the 60s. Read the book Jet Pack Dreams earlier this century. Still want a jetpack. And a flame thrower.

Every once in a while, going back over half a century, the government or military has released brief clips demonstrating that jet packs actually exist. But they must either be utterly impractical, or practical only for top-secret uses, because brief demonstrations are all I’ve ever seen or heard of them.

We’ve got some time for flying cars. The Jetsons takes place in 2062.

I desperately need a flying jet pack. It can be fueled by solar energy, or air pollution…, or, as a last resort, human sweat…
