Developmentally, the knee-jerk, “Other” name-calling is a reflection of emotional and cognitive development stuck at the me-mine I belong with this tribe so I have an established identity/worth.
Worldview: It’s scary out there. I’m afraid and sticking with the Truths of My Tribe gives me comfort. Having a clear and tangible enemy makes me feel safer; I can feel I know where the danger is coming from in a simple Me-right, They-wrong world. Those dangerous ‘Libs’ aren’t my neighbors or my friends or my fellow patriotic citizens!
Ironic that the name is “NoFearPup”…says it all…feeling young/small puppy-like, but claiming bravado, “I have NO FEAR!!!”
