Many years ago, the wife and I were shopping in Chicago’s downtown. We encountered a young man from the Salvation Army shaking a bell that made no noise. I asked him why they gave him a broken bell. His reply was “I’m playing Silent Night, man”. That was worth a fiver once I stopped laughing.
