Counting sheep is an active thing. The opposite of what one wants to go to sleep. I suppose the theory is that it is so boring it will do the same job.
And on a totally other topic, my favorites have always been the elevator ‘toons, and in the COVID-19 world, what will happen to Horace when he pushes the button this time? Is he bound for the ICU, or will he use something to push the button? Or will he carry Lysol spray around, or… it just won’t be the same…

I don’t get it. Shouldn’t it be the letter “M”?

Actually, K is a computer term standing for 1024. Common usage has ignored the exact number.

I know k (for kilo) is 1000, but my geeky nature still has 1k as 1024.

K has been the equivalent of 1,000 for as long as I can remember. It’s like calling a $5 bill a fin, or a $100 bill a Benjamin.
