Like my setup this summer of working at night and sleeping by day. Air conditioning is a necessity when the temperature gets high, but all I felt I could tackle was a “portable” air conditioner where all I had to do was attach a hose to a window. These air conditioners are already less efficient than in-window models, but then I had to place it on the other side of the next room and use two fans to get a trickle of cold air through my partially closed door. Not cheap, but what price sleep?
We get a lot of power outages near where I live. When I take a walk, I hear so many of those generators that I’ve noticed most of the motors make the same pitched sound.
Maybe time for a solar powered power station! Whenever the power goes off I hear a number of generators starting up in the neighborhood I wonder how they justify sharing all that sound pollution with all their neighbors. Battery powered power stations are coming down in price but still not really affordable for the average person. Hopefully one day soon.
Camping sure isn’t as much fun now that cheap gas generators are “pandemic”. I had a not-very-swift friend who asked me why people didn’t use electric generators. :)

I think chimes should be banned. They are noise pollution. Why should I have to listen to my neighbor’s toys?

Aw yes, reminds me of the electric vehicle scam. Power has to come from somewhere whether the wind blows or not.
