    “Embassy people?”

Listen kid, why don’t you put down that guitar, get a haircut, put some shoes on your feet and go look for a job?

Roseanne, so good to see you tonight. Dueling ‘drags’ tonight. That makes me sick! Why do they do that?!?

Thank you dear Aunt. The comment section was up in arms the past 24 hours. It was tense in here, kinda like a Joan Crawford movie, ya know what I mean?? But lil Roseanne took care of buisness :-))

I saw that, but seriously, just ignore him. Trying to win a disagreement with him is like trying to nail jello to a tree, ain’t never gonna happen.

Leakysqueaky, Marguerite, what happened? I saw some reference to some drama over in the comments section of another comic, but I didn’t check it out at the time, and by the sound of things, numerous posts have surely been deleted.

So please, dish the dirt! Feed my ghoulish curiosity! Did somebody steal somebody’s violin? Please don’t make me drag this story out of you!

Story progression tends to remain a major complaint in Dick Tracy. What doesn’t help is that the Sunday page is mainly a “synopsis” of the previous weeks work, on occasion taking it one panel forward. Locher’s Praetorian Guard claim that TMS “mandates” that the strip be produced that way.(i.e. - it’s not Locher fault) Reason being one or two paper (out of the 50 the carry it) use the Sunday page alone.

Don’t mind that both Gould and Collins were good enough to carry the story forward on a Sunday - seamlessly, while satisfying readers of the dailies only and Sunday only. This suggest to me that the problem resides in a lack of writing skill on the part of the current Author (?)

Then Monday’s strip is a reiteration offering, a sum up of the previous week before launching the story forward between the 15 panels available Tuesday to Saturday.

It’s a strip mired in a “time trap” allowing “half a league, half a league onward - every week! And with these obvious impediments to “good pacing” the writer’s style remains uvoid of urgency and painfully slow.

TMS must realize that their prized golden age strip is today, a vortex of circulating repetition. Yet seemingly takes no action to correct it

The other serials I read also seem to do a recap on Sunday, but it feels like it’s more a part of the story - maybe the characters are just explaining something to a new character. It doesn’t feel like Deja Vu like this strip does.

Memo to Guitar-Zan: MOST (if not ALL) gigs are a drag. The audience doesn’t care about the intricate technical piece of art you’ve worked on for the last six months; they just want to hear that one big hit. Deal with it. When you’re a professional musician, Artistic Satisfaction is measured in US Dollars!

If you print all the recent strips, cut them out and stack them vertically then read down the columns, you get three separate stories! I suspect hidden messages as well.

Sydney, I’m sure TMS is very well aware of it. But I doubt they will do anything about it as this is very cheap to produce. At least this is my theory.

Flight Suit, Basically, someone commented on someone else’s grammar, and things got a bit heated. Maybe we’re all getting a touch of cabin fever.

I haven’t read Rex Morgan MD for years. Dick Tracy is about as much excitement as I can take at my age.

I read Rex Morgan daily on another comics site, along with the Phantom and Krazy Kat, and Prince Valiant on Sundays.
