G’morning, margeritem! Lots more snow here Tues. night and Wed.… very windy Wednesday might cause lot of power outages so I might be missing Thursday. Shudder! (Sorry for the weather update mumbles). Now we return to our regular program.
Is a Stradivarius, or any violin, even heavy enough to use as a bludgeoning weapon? I’d think it would just come apart in little pieces the first time you hit somebody with it.
margueritem said, “VistaBill,May your electricity remain on, and may your young neighbor continue to shovel driveways.”
Thanks, marguritem. I might need to call the pig on wheels to rescue me! Or will Della Contessa drop a trapeze down thru the mountain of snow to save us?
Wait until you see the CONTRADICTIONS up ahead. This creative team has no respect for the norms of real life.
e.g. (A minor one) - Had no idea the Naperville police had anything called a Terror Squad.;)
And I have some art guide books of “bodies in motion”. Thought it was only Locher that struggled at that level, but that “cap” fits Brozman squarely !
Perhaps I should send him one !
haha… you all are wonderful. I read Dick Tracy – for the brilliant commentary. I laughed aloud @ Leaky: “I know its late and I’m tired, but is that mans elbow and thumb supposed to be on the same side??”
Read it again and see if you can keep from smiling.
Actually, if You look in panel one, he is holding the Strad in his right hand. So, in panel three, the only thing wrong is Tracy has broken his elbow and bent it the wrong way. That is, of course, if you ignore the muscles then being on the wrong side. And you have to also ignore the fact that Tracy would be standing on top of him while he must be laying on the floor. Or maybe he just ripped his arm off when he bent his elbow the wrong way.
Count me as another who gets more out of the comments than I do out of the actual strip. I remember as a kid sitting in front of a radio on Sunday morning listening to the the Sunday funnies show, where they read selected comics. As a kid I probably don’t remember how they were drawn, but they must have been better than this.
Here where I’m at we had snow but hopefully will be heading to spring. The ones who commented on this site with all that snow I’m very glad you have electric unless you are on generators.
That family needs an employment counselor! The father is the one who should be the rock star wannabee. He needs to be trained to wait until the end of the performance to smash up his instruments, that’s all – smashing them before the concert’s over isn’t going to work. Smashing it on somebody’s head will add to the performance and won’t hurt anybody; a violin doesn’t weigh anything. He’ll have to be a little careful with the sharp edges after it breaks, that’s all. The son is the one who should be the classical violinist, since he is the one who values a fine violin.
I don’t know how the father is going to play a violin with that arm of his, though. Maybe surgeons can perform an elbowdectomy and put it back in facing the right way….
That’s what I like about the Naperville police.. Armed, they just take over and VIOLATE the sovereign jurisdiction of the Cambastian Embassy without the slightest compunction
Expect a vigorous complaint to Obama
Only a squad led by a hero like Dick Tracy could get away with it, without being all “fired”
Did I call it squad (?) Sorry, they dismantled that a year and a half ago (Oct. 2008).

Maybe Maestro’s heart isn’t really in it?
Feel the love.

Tracy ? I thought cross-eyed Tons was … “seeing to it” ?
SORRY - Looking ahead I see his name is “Tucker” but he still keeps looking at his nose instead of the scuffle.

The artwork today is atrocious and where exactly did Tracy come from? Was he hiding behind the drapes? Holy Carp this is LAME.
And the protruding arm from Tracy’s head! OMG!
What exactly IS that creature in panel 2?

Before the pig on wheels appeared in the DT comic strip, it was worth around $2-2.50. DT made him famous!
