Lizz would soon regret her decision
Sending Tracy on that p.r. mission
Never one to show discretion
His tactics were called into question
And in his haste to save the day
There was going to be hell to pay
The guests panicked and began to dance
Looking like they had ants in their pants
Freakish figures shimmy and shake
Looking like they are in a quake
Tess lost her cool and began to scream
Adding further to the chaotic scene
Her piercing voice caused men to quail
Sounding like a Banshees wail
This was a night they would never forget
And oh yeh, the art looks like…
Locher can’t show Tracy throwing the violin in the pool because that wouldn’t be boring enough. If the suckers got to see Tracy actually do something they might notice he’s done nothing for the last month, and will do nothing for the next month. Better to be consistent … then people might not notice.
But, the guests got to see Tracy do something! They are so excited they can’t sit still! They have to jump up and dance and scream like teenyboppers at a Beatles concert!
So Tracy panics, runs around like a maniac looking for a pool, destroys the Strad for no good reason, and now panics the entire embassy. Way to go, Dick. That’s what I call staying cool under pressure.
Alas, Tracy’s implied save is of no avail! Tess’ distorted shriek puts one in mind of a pirate ship–murder on the high C’s. But it’s enough.
The Strad, I various-ly imagine, explodes into a million pieces, carefully-treated wood chip shrapnel flies through the air, slicing the villain’s throats and eviscerating the frame-2 hippies. Finally, the entire comic strip implodes, sucking down into it the collective sighs of wearied readers.
I guess panel 2 explains it all. Look at that crazy GO-GO “dancing” while Tracy eyes are popping and he’s prancing.
We “questioned” IT at the time, but this tells just HOW GOOD Ludwig and his Rock group really are (no experience, no resumé), yet getting the gig on the strength of one CD. Only thing is, we readers couldn’t “HEAR” the music
After this outstanding strip I guess I’ll have to admit Locher still has all his “marbles” … and by “next week”(or next month?) he’ll stun us with the explanation on WHO struck the “High C” note, and HOW the violin RECIEVED it through baffling water from the bottom of the pool.
Dicky L has become rather good at explaining these confusing things after the event. Trust him TO … (?)
Nice to see Bob back. The dance being done is called, and correct me if I”m wrong, the “Flintstone Frantic”. And today, Dick Tracy is brought to you by the letter “EEEEEEEEEEEE”.
A pity we didn’t see the violin hit the pool. How it lands is important, unless water goes in through the F-holes the violin won’t sink and the explosion will happen on the surface. Sinking doesn’t improve matters much, except that the water will slow the shrapnel.

Is that Tess screaming like that??
That would set a bomb off.

What is the name of the dance they’re doing in panel #2? Is it some weird fertility rite?
Llewellenbruce almost 15 years ago
That scream should set the bomb off.

Ridicolous strip today. The girl in the second panel is dancing?

Isn’t that a HI-E ?
“The Watusi” with some Mashed Potatoes mixed in .

I can’t believe they didn’t show the pool throw! !!!! So many profanities! And the art suddenly took a big drop randomly.
mjmsprt40 almost 15 years ago
It’ll make the ten-o’clock news, anyway. Virgil Ohso can watch panicked guests flee the reception and hear the report in the pool.

Frankenstein’s monster seems to want to join in the dancing. No wonder the guests are panicked!

Stradivarious in the pool ? .Seems better than smashing it to pieces on Ludwigs head.

Today’s strip is so unbelievingly bad…I can’t find the words…
sydney almost 15 years ago
”THE GUESTS ARE PANICKING”
the violins near exploding … an ambassadors there consoling but hoorah, Fearless Fosdick IS controlling
Could that be the CHORUS LINE they’re ALL shouting, to the music they are dancing ?
Excited “jivey” movements suggest it’s Ludwig Harmonic’s ’Rock Band’ giving the beat (?)
Or is that just frivolous, dissapointing art coming down from the text balloon ?

Darn! The one day I showed up late, a lot of action happens. I love the dance! Junior’s band must be playing!

Jeez, and I thought this strip had hit bottom with the circus story.

“He threw my stradivarius in the pool!”
“The guests are panicked!”
This isn’t a comic strip; it’s the script for a radio show. Again.

A poor radio show at that-Dancing girl didn’t get the message apparently-appears the guy with the 5 foot arm may have

Sydney Phillips said, “Stradivarious in the pool…”
Is that the next viral hit, after “Pants on the Ground?”

He threw my guests in the pool. The Stradivarius is going “EEEEE.” And Tess is dancing the Watusi.
There. I like that better.

Tess is screaming because someone, who obviously is taking advantage of the mayhem, gave her a grope on the rear end.
