Hmm… Someone who can help Mole . A Surprise from Mike Curtis for us on the 16th (tomorrow). Hmm.. If I had to guess, I would say we are all going to FINALLY see a certain someone. (grin)
I love the story. Mole’s anger harkens hack to his criminal past, and as one of the few to reform, he’s a nice, sympathetic character. Can’t wait to see what’s next. (Will it be Vitamin Flintheart? Or Vista Bill himself!)Gotta stay tooned!
Reading Dick Tracy today I was struck by how much the experience reminds me of how I felt about reading it back in the fifties. I really am eager to see what’s going to happen next. -Bravo, Team Tracy!!!!
Poor Mole! I just hope he doesn’t crack under all this pressure and revert to his bad old ways! Tracy must come through for him! My bet for tomorrow’s surprise? —Powerful and influential captain of industry Vitamin Flintheart.
Gentlemen: This is by far my favorite of the new strips. Mole has always been a favorite of mine, since Gould’s first rendering of him. You’ve done a remarkable job of portraying him.
I can’t wait till the strips are in book form. I’ll snap up every issue printed
@Sisyphos:Wouldn’t a “powerful and influential captain of industry” be a fitting descrition of Diet Smith? Vitamin Flintheart was almost always involved with theater and t.v. – so he IS probably the one Tracy has in mind.
You know, I remember wondering why Batman’s shirt and tights were different on all the inside pages – the cover of those earlier books had it as gray. When reading those books as a kid, I surely did notice that. What I didn’t know was that the gray was a product of three colors – I was just starting my interest in printing, and I did not own a printer’s loupe – but I thought they could achieve gray by using a simple screen tint with black ink. Thanks for the info.
Awesome! I always like it when someone shows the colorists, inkers, and/or letterers some love. Thanks for the info, especially about Adams, Tollin, and Roy.
I was glad to see that Mole did the right thing and went to Tracy for help rather than do something rash….a reformed villain is always an interesting character to write for….

Yes, I’m wondering, too. Wendy Witchell hasn’t vented her spleen yet, either.

Aw, Mole’s so nice! It’s very heartwarming to see a reformed villain doing right and relying on Tracy’s friendship.

@Tarry, @Ken,You are of course correct. My moment of confusion between the two; it was Diet I meant but Vitamin’s name I called up.
