    where did “spearphisher” come from?

Where did “spearphisher” come from?and someone sent her a package to tell her that they stole $300?Spear-phishing, is a real term. It basically means a targeting phisher. In short the phisher is attacking a specific person or organization, instead of spamming a large group of individuals. Phishface, set up the dummy website targeting Themesong to get to her fan-base, so he is spear-phishing her. I dont think the package told Honeymoon about the money being stolen, but it did include a payment receipt for the goods. She went to check her bank account on her computer and realized that the money was gone.

Today’s Crimestopper’s Textbook is inaccurate. There are many types of phishing scams which do not depend on the victim clicking a link.

Spearing the Tracy Family is not a smart move. Now this is personal, and Dick and Junior quickly will be all over Phishface and Chum Lee like a Great White over bloody chum.

Seeing Honeymoon makes me wonder when we’re going to see Moon Maid again? It’s been a month, with no mention of her yet….

Great tip about not clicking on email links, particularly ones that seem to be coming from your bank (and everyone else’s for that matter lol).

I got an e-mail yesterday from what appeared to be Microsoft threatening to invalidate my account and required me to re-list all of my personal data, including PINs. Two problems: I don’t have a Microsoft account and they made a grammatical error in word usage. I sent them a poliitician’s name and made up some numbers.

<<I sent them a poliitician’s name and made up some numbers.>>+Be careful; you could be found guilty yourself of scamming.Another clue is if there is a given link, but when you put your cursor on it, the display window shows a different web address. That’s a sure sign of a scam or phish.

I love when you get a fake e-mail from AOL, etc,. asking for passwords, etc.You see where the mail is being sent, an it’s to a g-mail(NOT AOL) account! Gee, AOL would use their server?

Love the decor of Honeymoon’s room. Son of Spike and Themesong posters, a big picture of her Mom, and a framed picture of grandpa next to her laptop – a cluttered and very realisitc looking room.Once again, terrific artwork, Team Tracy!

My general rule is that if I didn’t call them myself using a number I know is correct, or I didn’t go to the site I know is theirs and use their links to get where I am, I don’t tell them anything!I have received a notice from my credit card company telling me that there was some suspicious activity with my card, they used the ending numbers of my card and used my name as well. It asked me to call the number to talk to a person about it. There was a link on the page as well. The link was correct (I didn’t click it! The location showing up when I hovered over it was correct though), but I was still unsure so I called the number on the back of my credit card (It was different than the one in the email) and asked them about it. Found out the email was correct, and that someone had used my card number to purchase something from a hotel in another state the same day, and almost the same time, that I bought wiper blades for my car in my own state. The card company found that suspicious They canceled the card and issued me a new one.

And remember to change your password from time to time. It also helps to keep it different for different sites.

I’ll pass along a warning to anyone who may be wrapping up a loved one’s estate. My mother passed in July 2010 so I had to file her last tax return in 2011. After a long time with no word (or refund check) I mailed an inquiry. Still nothing. Finally called the IRS and managed to talk to a human. I was told someone had tried to change her mailing address to Florida (she lived in Virginia and I still do) in hopes of getting her refund. I was told it happens all the time. In this case, they caught it and nothing was sent to the scammer. But, I have more forms to file and still haven’t received the refund either.

For those of you waiting to see Moon Maid, forget it. Moon Maid was killed in a car explosion years ago during the Dick Locher era 1978. Junior married Sparkle Plenty soon after.

Morrow, if you reply to malicious emails, even if you provided phony information, it validates your email address. Best to delete.
