@Neil Wick, cpalmeresq and VistaBill: I’ve noticed that also. It is around 2am EST my time when they post. I’m thinking about just going to bed instead of staying up to post. And posting later. Have an eventful day my friends.
Gweedo, I think this is Joe deliberately trying (and succeeding) to make a Westview (=Funky) character look like a native Westviewan; i.e., more in the style of Batiuk!
Now Tracy and Sam can get back to the hometown and get to work on the unresolved crime spree rampaging there (a.k.a. dangling threads)!
As many of you know, Mike Curtis likes to put in references to his favorite music as well as “flesh out” the Tracyverse by giving the different characters favorite music, books, and comics. Well Shelley also has some favorites, and she is saddened today to hear of the death of Edgar W. Froese the founder of the German electronic music group Tangerine Dream. We have been listening to the following clip here at the Pleger household for weeks now. It is one of Shelley’s favorite “work music” pieces.RIP Edgar W. Froese. Thank you for your music.
Madame Fatal was a real Golden Age character! Okay, up to now, I knew about the reference in the undergrounds. I’m glad I came back to see the rest of the comments. Thanks, Anyface, and JPW for quoting it again.

Sam sure loves those comic books. (Is this a new thing where GoComics updates an hour later than before?)

Who was that unmasked man?
Their mission cleared, Dick Tracy and Sam Ketchem exit Westview.
Meanwhile …

Everything seems to sync up well enough, with the Tracy portion of the crossover chronologically first.
Still, was hoping the event would be a little more in-depth.

Maybe the Sunday strips will cross over as well.

DST doesn’t happen until March 8, so that can’t be the reason.

Wonder what the name of the bank is. Can’t be Westview, Central National Bank perhaps?

“The Jumbler” — is that “Jumble Jeff” Knurek? Whose name I’m probably misspelling.
“Madame Fatal” is a character from underground legend Kim Deitch (son of animation director Gene); a transvestite crime-solver.

Just like Jessica Fletcher, Tracy brings crime wherever he goes.
