One VERY negative poster on yesterday’s page (especially toward Mike Curtis). Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but isn’t it amazing that, all things considered, Team Tracy has won so many consecutive Harvey Awards!
I personally dislike the negative posters who go through a whole litany of stories they did not like. Critical review is healthy, but I say limit it to what’s in play currently. And, personal jabs at writer and/or artist can bring the community in general down to the level of snipe and troll. I think the current team is doing a great job overall, which most commenters attest to. Today’s strip really sends a message about lives over money that transcends this particular story.
A fine ending, and I fully agree with Tracy. The money-hungry, power mad idiots in all major corporations tend to give me a rather bad taste in my mouth. It’s people like Tracy that shows that not all of us are like that.
I’m finding that I cannot reply to people directly, in the last two days, but I can respond to the entire strip.
I will admit that the ending wasn’t the best, it felt as one said a ‘Deux ex machina’ but I have nothing but good enjoyment for the entire line. I was here during Mr Locher’s last and this still feels like Gould’s 70s run. So I’m still quite happy with the run, and will continue with it.
The start was brilliant I must admit. but when we was shown the reality it lost the mystery. Not exactly where I’d put that if I was writing it but nonetheless, another excellent thread.
I would have given this one a 3 out of 5 stars. (ug, now I sound like Lurrr critiquing “Single Female Lawyer” (giggles)
Of course Det. Tracy is implying that if the thing hadn’t ever been made there would be three more alive.
Well, the killer kept sending note saying that if they didn’t stop making the movie, more people would die, and they just ignored that and kept making the movie. It’s possible that less or even no people would have died if they had listened to the warnings.
I’m off to bed. I’ll have a full character list on this story so far sometime tomorrow. Just a quick summary: there were 62 different characters who appeared or were referred to in 66 days of strips. Technically, I’m going to consider the Christmas interlude part of this story, since Vitamin introduced it earlier.

Definitely a top-class statement. Well done.

Tracy is thinking of the victims, often Hollywood does not. Nice way to end the arc.

All that Austin cares about is saving his precious film, no matter how many people he has to trample along the way.

Dick Tracy is giving Mr. Austin something to think about. Will he take care of the families left behind?

Time for Vitaman in Magoo’s Christmas Carol! I wonder if Magoo himself will be in the audience :)
