There are more people than just the rabbi praying for Margie. If prayer helps her, she’s got all the advantages.

The long round of chemo should help, too.

On the plus side, there’s never been a time in history with more viable treatment options – just ask Jimmy Carter.

“Chemo” is torture literal torture and many just forgo it and die of cancer rather than suffer. And the difficulty is catching it early. They can do wonders if they catch it early, a much higher success rate for treatment. It is an ancient disease of the DNA where cells become immortal and without regulation.

The BMBG microwave transmitter can make short work of Marge’s cancer but alas would make short work of her too ! :(

    Gweedo quickly noted,

Those dirt walls really soak up the sound, Bill ! Better turn the dial to 12 !

    .

I knew you would have a solution, Gweedo! I believe I can hear water flowing now. How far down does Mole’s subrise go?

Terry Fox continues to inspire Canadians to fight cancer long after he died. In 1980, he ran a marathon a day for 143 days, over 5,000 kilometres, to raise awareness and funds for cancer research before his own cancer returned forcing the end of his attempt to run across Canada, dying less than a year later. He did this with one healthy leg, the other amputated due to the disease.

I wish we had used the money we wasted on needless wars for cancer research.

Over at that other site, the “r" and the “n” in “darkness” are MIA. It looks like Mole is saying “da k ess”.

For perspective, there is an excellent graphic novel still on the GoComics site – Brian Fies’ Mom’s Cancer. (Read it from the very beginning – it’s worth it.)

No chemo and radiation are no fun. I had small cell lung cancer. In a month it grew to the size of a fist. 8 months of treatment. I’m a survivor for 5 years but I’ve never been right since. 65, I lost all my strength and muscle tone. My balance. Broke my hip last year. I’m lucky if I can walk a block. Yeah I beat it but I hate feeling helpless!

I am in the same camp, with the Mole. I detest innocents being attacked, harmed or even killed by cowards. Even IF it’s a disease, I still detest it. I’d fight tooth and nail against the attackers.

The only time I’ll let my red-headed temper out.

Cancer robbed me of my dad when I was in my twenties, and later my mother. Likewise other members of my family. One of the most painful losses was a close college friend who died in his early thirties. Most recently, a dear cousin passed away because of cancer, and now her husband is fighting it. Prayers for all who are battling this disease, and their families and friends.

In my opinion, cancer is one of those diseases.. like HIV/AIDS.. that none of us here will ever live long enough to see a cure for.

    again, just my opinion

If only Mole, bless him, could get those strong hands around the neck of Cancer!

Margie and all RL victims of cancer deserve our support (but, at the same time, I must add, be alert for fake charities or even more-or-less legitimate charities with absurdly high overhead: in some cases, less than 10% of donations has actually gone to the espoused cause. There are online resources rating charities, among them charitynavigator.org and charitywatch.org)….

“I wish cancer was a thing you could fight! It’s cowardly, striking people from out of the darkness.”

    .

The Mole is right and I have saved this strip as a favorite on the basis of the above remark.
