A nice explanation for why the Spirit didn’t meet the Lunarians.

Mysta seems to be as smitten with Spirit as Bonnie is. Speaking of which, she has been out of sight for two days now – can we get the “camera” to pan on her? LOL

Guess the Lunarians weren’t policing the moon very thoroughly.

Trip To Moon Now Feasible Claims Professor

Central City … In an exclusive interview late last night, Prof. Hartly Skol, Chairman of the projected Interplanetary Flight Commission stated that it is now possible to successfully launch a rocket ship to the moon!

For the first time it was publicly revealed that for the past 18 months the Professor’s organization has sent 14 rockets to the moon bearing simo-data recorders, video solar equipment, and automatic cameras. “On the basis of these records,” stated the Prof., “we are now ready to transport human beings to the moon. At the moment we are preparing to launch the first rocket bearing living animals!”

The unmistakable Wallace Wood ghosted the 1952 “Outer Space Spirit” arc for Eisner, as we see here. (I just looked them up, and was gratified to see that Wood is now given official co-credit.)

The Spirit looks at the audience as he explains how his moon trip is compatible with Dick Tracy continuity.

Both the Spirit’s as well all of Tracy’s trips to the moon now have to have been much later than the Apollo missions.

Ohmirgaush! Mysta’s crush is so obvious! And the Spirit: I don’t know if he is playing it coy, or if he doesn’t notice what is so plain to see, or if his heart still belongs to Ellen Dolan. But surely Tracy and Tess can’t be blind to what’s happening at their dinner table! And Bonnie, the Older Woman?

I’m always waiting to see which great artist Joe will channel next. Not that Joe isn’t already one of the greats himself!
