Warbucks couldn’t have been speaking with the Great Am. Am told Tracy and the Spirit that he met her centuries ago. I wonder what her reaction was when he told her that Am wanted to “meet her.” Did she know who Oliver had been talking to?
Finally found where The Great Am had a good-vs-bad duel with Rune – http://www.stuartliss.com/loahp/Rune.html It turned out it was Pequod who posted the link http://www.gocomics.com/dicktracy/2017/01/02?comments=visible

I’m coming back to Doubleup……… there are only two professional baddies left and only one has big hands. To paint any of the others as a murderer would go against their sterling reputations of the ages. And finally, wouldn’t each one of the bidders want their $250K back at this point? Warbucks is right; why stick around?
Actually, Tracy’s trying to get his questions in quickly; rumor has it that Hercule Poirot and Jane Marple are flying in from Europe. ( Murder at the Hotel Siam? )
Warbucks seems awfully anxious to leave. Warbucks often skirts the rules yet Tracy seems to be taking everything he says at face value. Where’s that old Tracy suspicion?
Any chance the woman that died was a stand-in for the real Perenelle? Consider this: what forensic information do the authorities have on Perenelle Flammel? Of those people at the Hotel Siam, who besides Am (who apparently had not seen the woman calling herself Perenelle since she arrived in Tracyville) and Ramon can verify the Perenelle’s identity?
Dick Tracy has become a mish mash of a dozen different comics. I’ve stopped reading and only stoped to make my comment. I think DT has had it but of course there are many who will disagree. Good luck and farewell.
If Oliver is telling the whole truth (and I for my part do not doubt that this really is Oliver Warbucks), then we must wonder if Perenelle replied to Am’s request for a meet-up and if indeed they did meet some time that evening. I do not look upon Mr. Am as a potential suspect, but he almost surely knows something. He may be reluctant to tell what he knows about this, for a number of reasons (including those that have to do with the ethics of revealing to mere mortals things known supernaturally). Tracy must be the better detective under the circumstances. Meanwhile, the Spirit’s expression in the penultimate panel suggests he is mulling over Warbuck’s statement himself….
1. Some calling himself Am called some calling himself Warbucks.
2. “Warbucks” could be lying about Am calling.
3. Warbucks could be the real thing, and “Am” called but was a fake.
4. “Warbucks” could be lying by telling Perenelle that “Am” wanted to see her. (Note Tracy is apparently not going to verify any information with Am, and yes I believe the person we saw with Tracy and Spirit on January 1 was the real Am.)
5. As I’ve previously stated, “Perenelle” may be a fake, as well, and who knows if the real Perenelle even has (or had) an employee named Ramon Escobar?
Hmmmm…… Normally, the DT strip is posted on Comics Kingdom at 11:00 Central, but isn’t tonight. They probably didn’t figure the time change. So I’ll have to go to bed wondering what tomorrow’s installment is. (not that I’ll lose sleep over it!) Besides, the overpass noise lulls one to sleep with the monotonous traffic noise. SDM and I have separate internet connections now that Gweedo stopped by and did a little wiring.

What’s with Warbucks’ hand? Too much emphasis on his hand today.

The monster lurks within us all
Unfortunately a few will heed it’s call
Havoc and mayhem become the norm
The sun departs replaced by a storm
Through the muck the truth must be found
The course of action is to snoop around
Removing the mask that hides thier sin
Reveals the evil that’s buried within
Time will tell who did this deed
By separating all the wheat from the weed

Seems “The Hotel Siam” is not a smoke-free establishment.

The Spirit is not a suspect? No small talk with Tracy as he said in the last panel That leaves Diet Smith and the Dragon Lady to question.

Hey, Tracy, you said you had a few questions for Warbucks, and that was only one! LOL

Okay, let’s see:
