Nice mix of panels today, including silhouettes and exterior shots.

So, the Nitrates are literally continuing the family business. I’m sure it’s the only life they know.

And scamming is the kind of business you have to know when to fold them and leave town quick.

Good Morning, Tracy fans. Thanks so much for the information of Melton Barker. I checked the wiki myself and it didn’t say if he was related to the infamous Ma Baker of the 1930’s.

Several of the obituaries about Our Gang (Little Rascals) characters who have passed on in recent years are actually kids from Barker films. It just adds to the confusion.

It sounds like they could be a legitimate enterprise, like the Star Trek Continues, Star Trek: Phase 2 or Axanar productions.https://youtu.be/1W1_8IV8uhA

But we still don’t know the nature of Silver and Sprocket’s relationship to each other.

Perhaps Silver and Sprocket were children from those films who were kidnapped by the older Nitrates.

Why was that a scam? Making a local film that people pay for their kids to be in, and then showing it in a theater in that town so that the residents can see their children and local landmarks on film, doesn’t seem much different from running a “vanity press” which publishes author’s books for a fee. It seems this would be a scam only if the Nitrates had promised to show the film in other towns and use the box office to pay back the money that the parents paid to have their kids be in it.

Scamming people are really in their blood if their parents were involved in it. The scam is so good that people think that Silver and Sprocket are siblings naturally.

@OKINAWAN ACEHey—I’ve read the Flash for years! How come I don’t know this ? And what ever happened to Wally?

The show is on the CW but it’s now on DVDs. The 4th season is about to come out (around Oct). Of course I have all 3 seasons of DVDs :)

I will say that the TV show seems to have taken the best of ALL Superhero shows, and movies, and threw out the bad. It’s been consistently good and as a very long reader of the Flash (late 70s with Cary Bates writing/drawing) I’ve been exceptionally pleased. We now have Wally (African-american version) as well as Jessy Quick too (Woman)

I will recommend it highly to all Flash fans, so run (sorry) out to your local Wal-mart or Amazon and get caught up.

One wonders whether Meredith Willson was aware of Mr. Barker when he wrote “The Music Man”.

If they said up-front that there was a fee for the local children to participate, and in the end the film was actually shown in the local theater, where’s the scam? What did they promise that they did not deliver?

Okay…. Gotcha about the old family scam. Now, what about the non(-blood)-relationship between Silver and Sprocket?
