Could it be that Bill has stopped at Janet’s stage and grub, the old west’s version of a truck stop, for a heapin’ helpin’ of her world famous pan fried Denver omelets and shoestring tater tots ? He sho is late gettin’ here !
Unless there is a story sometime during the Collins/Fletcher/Locher years that I don’t know about – the original young woman that caused Tracy all sorts of grief with her “high society/dizzy dame” antics was Bea Thorndike’s niece, not her daughter. She first appeared in late December 1941 in a story that eventually lead to BB Eyes.
Looks like Tracy is going to have to renew his acquaintance with Auntie Bea. The “friend helping her” that Honeymoon mentions is Public Domain, so if Tracy does start looking into the Lincoln Artifact, he will quickly come to wanting to question Domain. Domain, under pressure, would probably try to throw the Nitrates under the bus while at the same time trying to distance himself from them and more specifically from the dual jailbreaks….
I’m not very familiar with Mrs. Thorndike. Where would she and Honeymoon have crossed paths? It seems odd to me that a socialite would confide in a kid who’s not part of her family. That she’d tell a kid about an item that would be highly sought-after by other collectors if they got wind of it seems odder still.

With Sam in tow
To investigate this show
There’ll be much woe
To honesty’s foe
Thanks to a moonchild doe
You reap what you sow

Why does little Honey look a bit distressed in the last panel ? Nothing or no one she’s seen so far should give cause for alarm.

I see a dust cloud in the distance. Could that be our intrepid hero, Vista Bust ’em up Bill ?

“The find of a lifetime,” hmm. I’d rather have a Space Coupe Baby t-shirt.

This feels a bit like Tuesday’s episode of The Edge Of Night, where characters talk about what happened on Monday’s episode of “The Edge Of Night.” ;)

Meanwhile, Tracy continues to pull double duty over on a strip whose initials are “G.A.”

Silver’s ducking out at this point turns out to be smarter than we had realized.

If little Honey’s anntennae are always giving off electrical sparks, it’s amazing that her hair isn’t more frizzy.

Now, what would happen at this point if it was Nancy Drew?

Just read that Hugh Hefner has passed, at the age of 91.
