As I’ve often posted here for previous stories, this is a list of the 41 characters referenced by the “Sawtooth” story that just finished, ranked by number of appearances days. The numbers are the number of days the character had dialogue, followed by the number of days the character appeared either physically or in the dialogue.
We start off with the head bad guy and the head good guy, appropriately enough, nearly tied for appearances.
22/30 Mr. Bribery
19/29 Dick Tracy
Next are the niece and the granddaughter, respectively, of those same two characters. They had an important subplot of their own and they, arguably, both achieved character growth during the story, which is why I highlighted their story arc some days ago.
22/26 Ugly Crystal
18/25 Honeymoon Tracy
The two Lunarian types that were kidnapped on behalf of Mr. Bribery rank next in number of appearances.
6/21 Mysta Chimera
13/20 The Moon Governor
Lee (as T-Bolt) and Sawtooth come next and were often seen together. This was Sawtooth’s story to loose and his crime failed spectacularly.
13/19 Lee Ebony/T-Bolt
11/15 Sawtooth
The rest (even Posie) were fairly minor supporting characters.
8/11 Sam Catchem
7/11 Posie Ermine
6/10 Ygor Glitch
6/8 Junior Tracy
6/6 Pat Patton
3/5 Diet Smith
2/5 Unnamed assistant of Sawtooth
1/5 Unnamed jogger
3/4 Rifle Ruby
2/4 Unnamed mugger at the mall
3/3 Matty Squared
2/3 Tess Tracy
2/3 Rhett
2/2 Joe Tracy
1/2 Ugly Christine
0/2 Lizz
1/1 Sparkle Plenty Tracy
1/1 Bonnie Tracy
1/1 Marge Catchem
1/1 Wendy Wichel
1/1 Mayor Armstrong
1/1 Ignatz
Two characters from the following story sneaked in a little early.
1/1 Ghost Pepper
1/1 Unnamed chef at Pepper’s
A number of characters were referenced but not see
Well, now we got our conflict…..will Simon resort to some criminal act (assault, arson or perhaps MURDER MOST FOUL) to get what he wants or to get REVENGE????
This has great potential. The “Ghost” character is very, very Gouldian. I sort of wish we didn’t know that this story will be over by April – unless somehow it segues into the big crossover coming.
Now Mike’s promos are sounding like a crossover is an expected annual “thing”. Words like “the summer crossover” make it sound like it’s an established tradition. When did that happen? Just because they did a couple, does it mean they have to do them every summer going forward? IMO, they would have been better off developing this new story into a full length Dick Tracy story. Oh well, we’ll take what we can get, I guess.
Looks like a Ghost-Simon Confrontation, and I’m pretty sure we’re not just haggling over price. Does Ghost plan to off Simon? Looks like things are going south at warp speed!

Good morning™, non-sellers!
Simon’s not going to like this unexpected development.

Why does “Ghost” remind me of actor Mark Hamill …? ✨

I sure hope the head chef at Peppers isn’t as inconsistent as the menus are!

Ghost reminds me of the old Creeper villain Proteus. In form only, of course.

Good morning™, deal renegers !
Will ghost become one ? Simon looked pretty determined he would soon be dining in his own shop !
.
Neil Wick, Yes, I was not clear on that but I meant Simon should just pay up and be on his way because Ghost is not an easy one to push over.
.
Left a late reply to avenger.

Ghost reneging on the deal? Hmm. What’s his angle?

What a STAGG erring turn of events! Why, I’d bet that NOBODY saw this double-cross coming!
Ray Toler almost 7 years ago
Seems like this could either be a drug operation or a money laundering scheme.
Why was the word “Peppers” in parenthesis? What was Ghost implying?
trimguy almost 7 years ago
Simon best be careful, lest he become a rare breed of “blood pepper”.

Simon summons his unfrozen caveman bodyguard, Java. Java rips Ghost’s arms off. Simon keeps the restaurant.
