Okay, now I see where this has all been leading to and boy is it gonna be good! I think it’s an adaptation of the MacClaine & Winger classic: “Terms of Deferment.” Spoiler: get a box of tissues…
I sure hope Peter doesn’t have Tracfone or else he’s really racking the minutes up the Great Gazoo! LOL!
This guy Daily is a real sadistic jerk! Getting poor Peter all nervous and worried, making him apologize and then telling him not to worry about the payment, all while surfing the web on his 1980’s IBM monitor!
I think the boys don’t know how to wrap this up so they’ve stuck us in a telephone holding pattern while they figure something out.
Tomorrow we’ll see Honeymoon and Crystal on the phone talking about the cute drug dealer at school!
See, I wasn’t so rough on the strip today, I can be nice.
In response to NG’s comment yesterday about his writing his own stories for Alley Oop and “challenging” myself and/or Stilldamatt to write a Tracy story to see if either of us can do better….
I’ve been writing stories in Yahoo RPG Groups since the early 2000’s for up to FOURTEEN different groups at one time with messages racking up over 300 per month IN EACH GROUP!
The difference here is that I have to adjust my stories on the fly depending on individual group members’ posts and actions for their characters, and try to keep the stories in-line with my original idea while YOU just write for yourself…i’m writing for over 15 group members, making sure their characters and posts get their turn, and moving on from that in each group daily!
I have an idea of what my story will be and who will be involved, then i present it to the group in my initial post, and from thaere relying on their responses, i either run with the story i planned originally or more often than not, i constantly change the circumstances to fit the players’ movements while keeping as close to the original thought as i can.
While it may not SEEM very difficult, its a LOT harder than youd think!
If any of you would like to see my posts, you can email me and i will send them to you
We have descended to retro phones, retro monitors, and even a retro haircut on the manager of Patterson Playhouse. In Tracy’s office (even though the futuristic monitors tend to display—through voice recognition, I supose—anyone who is mentioned) they still rely on retro paper files and retro metal filing cabinets while wearing retro wrist radios.
Meanwhile, a wave of nostalgia has swept Tracyville as the entire population clamors to cosplay the monkeys from Jungle Drums. Rumor has it that Sam and Tracy will make guest appearances dressed in retro sailor suits as Deacon and Miller in Gobs at Sea.
Notice that the operative word above is “retro.” What happened to the Dick Tracy strip that used to look forward? Where is the Tracy who was such an advanced crimefighter that his gadgets would make James Bond and Batman blush?
A respite for Pitchblende! Turns out that being a pal of Flintheart can have its benefits (not speaking of the Kandikane kind, here). At least this buys him some time, and maybe Tracy can start to nose into the financial scam (or maybe chin into it, as would J. Straightedge Trustworthy)….

he better call Tracy fast to sort through the money game. 90 days hold for paying of bills is not in line with any reasonable company.

It’s like Joe & Mike are testing us, seeing how bad the strip can get while still retaining our readership.
