Susan, this comics was on GoComics for quite a while, then it jumped ships, so to speak. I’m sure glad it’s back, I missed these clunk heads.

Well Ma, for accident prevention, it Depends. Considering the instructions on the board, it might help not to drink so much coffee and make one last stop before leaving. If those are keys from every car Ma has ever owned, is there a key from a Tucker or a Crosley Hotshot in there?

    Hullo all.

I really do think Julie is teasing us with super-obvious Find-It’s cos we ragged on her about the missing or obscure ones.

And, sigh….. I sympathise, Ma. I come from a whole family that can’t pass a bathroom.

I think every one of us, in each generation, knows (or knew) the location of every restroom on the way to anyplace.

    Getting older has NOT helped.

So Verl and Joy, don’t poke fun — you’re next.

    And yeah, Marg —

When the Crustwood gang arrived here, I noticed that the archives were empty for much of 2009 and 2010, when Dinette Set was on Comics.com.

Julie must have switched to representation by United Features then.

But if you look back farther, there were strips from 2005-2009, so I figured it was here then.

By now some are being filled in, but 2010 is patchy.

GoComics promised they would re-build the archives for all the UF strips, but so far only a few are finished.

I also noticed that the older strips didn’t have Find-It’s. Wonder when that started.

And Mikie — my guess would be that those are all keys to her current car.

Whenever she figures out how to get another, they take it and hang it with the others, out of reach.

I’ve read that most traffic accidents occur within 25 miles and within 10 miles of home. Guess it depends on what they mean by “most.” But you know, ever single trip you take starts out and ends within a mile of your home, so statistically you spend way more time driving close to home than far away (unless you’re a truck or taxi driver). That statistic is sort of meaningless. You can’t reduce your accident probability by not driving close to home unless you just quit driving.

Thanks to all for giving me my curmudgeon moment.

Those are a lot of keys to be for the current car. Dealers only issue 2 sets.

So, the accidents they are referring to are not of the automotive type? That DOES make it funnier – but I love that the car keys for Ma are up at the ceiling where she can’t reach. I remember a long drive (driven by my dad when he was truly senior …and thinking about how to get him to stop driving ;-)

let’s see…i used to drive to work 10 miles each way, 5 days a week. i then drive on one vacation about 2000 miles round trip over a total of about 6 days. so the odds of my crashing are in favor of the commute. i guess this places that sort of trivia in the retardedly obvious category. good fit for the pennies. “running into the house”. heehee

Why is it that I get the strong feeling that Julie wanted to put “SH” on that headline??

Next, she’ll read that most accidents happen in the home and insist they move.
