Ma is sadly typical. My daughter owns a nursery business near an upscale Del Webb residential establishment and the denizens are simply awful! They have a huge sense of entitlement, are always demanding discounts and extra (free) service. Their rationale is that they are on fixed incomes. What they fail to mention or recognize is that their fixed incomes are significantly higher than most other people in the area. And they are not above purchasing a plant from a discount chain and trying to return it to my daughter for a refund—in the original pot!—when it dies. Many of the other businesses in the area report the same thing. No one wants to deal with them.

How sweet.. already thinking of Ma’s Christmas stocking. Something to allow her to help out around here… a potato peeler! They’ll just keep it at their house for when she needs it.

Meanwhile…. I’m sure Julie timed this one to remind everyone to vote….Please do!

I’ll be mostly absent for the next 48 hours, probably…. a long day tomorrow and a VERY long day Tuesday when I work the polls, as ever.

In Ca, the polls are open 7am till 8pm. We’re there an hour before till one or two hours after.

GymShoe and Dave H have been talking about detail in this strip….so I was taking a little trip through the archives.I did find SOME strips with more detail but a lot exactly the same….And coincidentally, ran into this one, which may or may not be the same background as today’s…and also about an election…. except afterward…. and even so, it would have been late.

If it was re-used to make today’s, things have actually been added…. the doorway and more notes on the left…. and an elephant Find-It. (Is it cos they’re Republicans?)

    Nov 25th 2006!

While I’m at it…. the strip a couple of days later was about as scatological as yesterday’s conversation here.

    Julie! Tsk!

Most of you People must be liberal Democrats. Most of us seniors live on a small fixed income, Social Security …THAT WE PAID FOR OUT OF OUR INCOMES OVER OUR WORKING YEARS…. !!!! and the seniors are the one who went to war, so you IDIOTS could have all the freedoms you think you are entitled to now. Some day you will wake up and find out your freedoms are gone…….. then who ya going to blame.

Yes, thanks, Susan. Nothing to talk about without politics today. I’ll just be so happy to lose THOSE ads and the extra phone calls ;-D

I had to go where I could share that on my FB page- I SO agree with the general feeling. I am rather glad to see a lower votor urnout when all the uninformed are being churned out. My lover is so annoyed by the ads he thinks he can make a statement by voting Libertarian. As he and I are both very conservative this would bother me (but he’s in IL, while I’m in AZ).
