Oh Mister, do you know that you can kiss my a$$? Somehow I don’t think Burl has any idea how much prime rib or filet costs, or a cell plan for that matter. I’m sure he is using U-Stor-It’s phone for everything.

There is a great little app called “Out of Milk”Just speak your grocery list on the app and check each item off as you grocery shop. Totally eliminates paper and pen.

Late posting for me due to killer sinus headache.

    Good Morning All

Burl is an @$$. I make a detailed grocery list for three different stores, along with corresponding coupons, and my DH does the actual marketing. He rings me at least three times from each store for such things as unadvertised sales, if there’s a discrepancy in the advert/merchandise or if we’ve forgot to put something on the list. It’s not as if the phone has to be surgically removed from his ear. Convenience is what the sodding things were invented for. Just because idjits like Burl are technologically impaired doesn’t mean that legitimate use of cell phones should be banned.

My ex-BF and I used to shop at two different stores, comparing prices via cellphone. After awhile, i noticed some people following me: if I put an item into the cart, they would put one or a few in their carts as well, but if I put an item back, they ignored that items. Glad to know I was a leader in the local economy.

One Thanksgiving Mom brought a pear with a feather stuck in it to the eatin’ crate. Before Dad began to carve he preemptively smacked his, um, sister, Christine. “You think you so smart?” was all she could say.

We knew she brought it on herself. She won the wish stem pull three years in a row. Auntie Christie, we called her.

Here in Phoenix, I shop at the Albertson (Jewel) less than mile from the house or Frys (Kroger) 3 miles for chain store items and at Sprouts (like Whole Foods with better pricing) for most of the rest. I go to Whole foods for caviar (but not while vegetarian).

I try to chose just what I need for 2 weeks when I can – especially stocking up on V8, papergoods or pasta at a chain while buying more produce at Sprouts. Limes 3/$1 at chains will be 5 or more/$1 at Sprouts and they always have piles of really fresh produce, like string beans so I can usually take handfuls instead of one by one to skip any wrinkled or spotty. I buy G&B 70% chocolate at Sprouts and Lindt 85% at chains.

I often LOOK at the choices in other carts, but I keep my comments to myself there. (although I DO sometimes comment to someone nearby at Sprouts when something looks especially good) and sometimes someone might ask me about the use of some produce item. Sprouts has a much better selection of herbal tea, and when I was not vegetarian – free range poultry, grass fed beef and much better cheeses.

Butt out Burl and Joy, do your own shopping, maybe if you had a life and didn’t always go to the store together you would figure out sometimes it is handy to call. On the other hand, however, I do find it irritating when someone is yalking non stop all through the store and fumbling for their debit card in the check out line.

Although, like Burl and Joy I did enjoy overhearing a nurse who had just got fired at the hospital talking to a friend. That added entertainment to that shopping trip. Wasn’t hard to figure she had no clue.

Never thought I’d say it, but I agree with the morons on this one. I love it when they are still talking on their phones while checking out.

I used to use my phone to call home and ask hubby to read my shopping list to me, since I invariably left it behind. That was before I realized, I could type my list directly into my phone. And, even those older dumb phones have calculator functions, probably the most useful ‘app’ of all. Carrying on a conversation while walking about the store? Not me.

I have used the cell phone to make sure I got the right item for the room mate or to share an idea for dinner. The Penny’s need to mind their own business.
