Connie’s hair is garish, her suit is lovely. The striped tee shirt underneath is another matter.

Tyler and Scott? Are the Pennys more open-minded than I thought?

At least the happy couple wasn’t so lost in the clouds in planning their special day that they forgot to take precautions for having Burl and Joy there…..

Cash bar, exits near the gift table locked.

Centerpieces probably attached to the tables with cable locks, too.

But what’s that in Burl’s top pocket?

Why were they invited, anyway? They can’t be an asset to the party… Unlikely they’ve done somebody a favor….

Scott’s grandmother bought an expensive gift for Ma’s wedding in 1947 and she, and now his mother, have been trying to get some sort of reciprocal favor from the Penny/Darwin clan ever since?

In any case…. tie down the shrimp tray.

Mikie… did you see what I did for you yesterday?

(And OK, you guys…. about my first line…yeah yeah….… but if Tyler is female she’s either very young, or had a very modern mother.)

For a woman to be seen wearing the same thing to two different events is embarrassing; someone who has been pointing it out to others is not nice as pie. Joy completely missed that.

To be sure, we can’t imagine why the Penny’s would be invited to anything (except from what we are shown, the rest of Crustwood seem to suffer from the same lack of manners).

I’m also sure that the door is locked to prevent the disappearance of any gifts (not only the shrimp tray, or other pricey foods). And Joy cannot be expected to notice any nuances in the “compliments” paid her.

@Susan, as to being “open-minded”, I don’t think anything would get in the way of a free meal for these folks ;-D

The cash bar is upstairs, Too much trouble for the Pennys to go to “The elevator doesn’t go all the way up” and the stairs are out because they don’t do them. The three they have at their house are enough to put the wind out of both…

Re: Burl’s necktie: he must think it’s the Fourth of July……..maybe it is, where they are. The thing in his pocket might be a started on Hershey’s Crackle bar…..when he gets hungry again he nibbles off a bit….very resourceful.

Tyler and Scott. How very up-against-the-wall-western-civilization of them.

    Tyler Scott
