At home, of course, they eat plenty of salads… but they know just how to make them, so they’re allergen and acid free.
You have to make sure all the ingredients are thoroughly cooked… canned is best…. and there are plenty of easy-on-the-stomach ingredients, like mayonnaise, sour cream, eggs or cheese.
Potato salad is perfect… no celery though…
And just the other day, Verla photocopied this great green salad recipe from a magazine she was reading at work:You make 2 boxes of green jello, whip it with a cup of mayo when it starts to set, and stir in a pint of cottage cheese, 2 small cans of peaches, a cup of sour cream and half a bag of mini marshmallows.
Delicious… and the sweetness encourages you to eat a LOT of green salad!Joy is such a great cook.She immediately came up with her own wonderful variation….substitute one can of fruit cocktail for one of peaches. Brilliant!
None of them could go to the salad bar in the background and get whatever they want without getting whatever they are “allergic” to on their plate. They remind me of my mother, not happy unless they are complaining or putting down others.
The name of the restaurant is "Salads and Such, what did they think they were going to find on the menu. Well there should be plenty of mayonnaise/carb laced selections under the guise of salads that they can find something, then go thru the McDonalds drive thru on the way home for some filler.,
