Were all the motels full?I guess the Y was all booked too…and all the park benches taken. And the niece doesn’t know anybody else within 30 miles of Crustwood…which is the only place … um… one of them could get a…I dunno… a life-saving operation?
I mean, surely they’d have to be desperate to stay with any of this bunch.
2Old from yesterday…. Yeah, I may have made up that recipe… but I’ve tasted waaay too many almost identical “salads” at the potlucks we used to have around here,
And when my aunt and uncle bought a small deli, the sellers gave her their secret recipe for their most popular salad, which she made for every occasion for the next umpteen years.
No jello, but a huge deli pan of it included a little canned fruit with cups and cups of mayo, sour cream, marshmallow cream AND marshmallows…. and a cup of sugar!
A couple of bananas and a couple of oranges cut up in that huge batch made it “fresh fruit ambrosia” on the menu board.
