Joy and Verla not only were left behind the door, they were left on the bus!Did they even graduate from High School? How?

You know why Ma is smiling? Because neither of these dunces are living with her! And the docs told her that they would never progress past 3rd grade level. And by gum, they haven’t.Ah, the weather. Down here on the Gulf Coast it’s not like Minnesota, but it’s still cold. And my wife firmly believes in the old adage, “One good turn gets most of the blanket.”

“A Confederacy of Dunces” on ice, no less. As much as Toole was a genius, these two are true dunces. A difficult read.

Maybe Julie is referencing her satire in TDS with Toole’s in “Confederacy,” but where the Pennys are truly stupid and gross, Reilly is smart and gross. And while it is a comic novel, it is difficult because Toole’s satire is so intense it requires the reader to stay constantly focused and disciplined to appreciate it. The least vagrancy and it boils over into a huge mess.

I guess September has 60 days? Or is it December that has thirty days per half?

February doesn’t count cos it isn’t really a whole month, is it?

And poetry doesn’t have to rhyme… Joy’s teacher told her so… even that Shakespeare guy…some of that stuff isn’t even in English, as far as she could tell…but it’s so famous they made a movie out of it.

30 Days hath September, April, June, and November. All the rest have 31, except February. But, Julie’s is way funnier.

Held back a couple of grades, even in home school, I’ll wager.

Thirty days hath September,April, June, and November;February has 28 alone,All the rest have 31;Except leap year, that’s the timeWhen February’s days are 29.

Actually, my ex-husband taught me another way to figure out which months have 30 days and which have 31. You make a fist. And starting with the first knuckle (not on the thumb, but the pointer knuckle) you have January, then in the space next to the knuckle before the next one, you have February, then the next knuckle is March. You keep going on the knuckles and the spaces between. When you get to July on the last knuckle, you return to the first. All of the months right ON the knuckle have 31 days. With the exception of February, the months in the spaces have 30 days. And as long as you know when leap year is, you should have no problem remembering how many are in February!

Better add to do list. Get ‘SIMPLTON RHYMES FOR DUMMIES’ for Verl and Joy for Christmas.

And the list? They never wash the bird feeder (just spray it?)And as for comparing salt, I don’t think they could distinguish between generic Iodized and Fleur de Sal.
