John Connally: You're not here for double-talk, gentlemen. You're here because, as businessmen, you're sick and tired of being blamed for all of society's ills! You know that as America's captains of industry, you deserve better. You know that as our last line of defense against cheap Japanese imports, you deserve our respect! The Connally way offers you that respect. It gives you the space in which to realize your earning potential. It says that tax incentives are okay, and by deregulating industry, it creates a context for growth. Man: I feel better about myself already. Second man: Me, too. Connally: We call it "getting yours".
