Listen, Ellen, I'll tell you why I called. December is sneaking up on us again, and I was wondering if you were free for New Year's Eve. Voice: Oh... um, gee. I'm sorry. But I'm afraid I already have a date. Thanks for asking, though. Mike: You already have a date? Eleven months from now? Voice: Well, you know how competitive it can be.
