Man: Good evening from London. Today near Kabul, Afghan rebels staged another stunning raid on a Soviet encampment outside the troubled capital. Who are these plucky champions of Afghan independence? What drives them to fight on against overwhelming odds? At great personal risk, our man Roland Hedley set out to find the answers. Unshaven and clad in the indigenous garb of an Afghan mountaineer, Hedley slipped unnoticed across the Afghan and filed the following report. Man: Rollie, I'm still getting glare from your nose.
