Reagan: Ed, what's all this fuss over my favorite white paper? Ed Meese: Well, sir, it seems its author played a little loose with the truth... Finding the facts to fit your policy turned out to be somewhat tougher than we thought. In desperation, the writer put in guesswork an some outright fabrication. Reagan: Gosh... I feel badly misled... Meese: Don't worry, sir, there'll be plenty of other world-wide Communist conspiracies to document. Try not to fret over it. Reagan: Okay. I think I'll go riding. Meese: Great idea, sir. Relieve the pressures of office!
