Roland: Five years ago, when Ronald Reagan promised to simultaneously lower taxes, increase military spending, and balance the budget, third-graders everywhere said, "Hold it, that doesn't add up!" Who says Johnny can't add? Since assuming office, president Reagan has presided over more deficit spending than his 39 predecessors combined! With the national debt now at an awesome $2 trillion, even Republican loyalists are now finally starting to face facts and whisper the hitherto unwhisperable. Man: We have to raise taxes. Man 2: What's that? Speak up, man! I can't heear you!
