GT has indicated he regrets these strips. While Alzheimer’s was a known disease at this time, it was still mostly considered to be the cause of dementia in middle age adults (45-65), while those showing symptoms who were older were thought to simply be suffering it as a result of old age. Gary said that if he had the understanding of the disease then that he had now, he never would have done them.
