Roland: Good evening. Today, in an astonishing turn of events, Bush scripwriter Peggy "Points O' Light" Noonan declared the election officially over! Public reaction to news of the shortened campaign was ecstatic. The vice president, while clearly surprised by his handler's decision, was philosophical when he met with reporters today. George Bush: Hey, it's nine extra days for the transition. We can use 'em. If it's over, it's over. You're not going to catch me whining about it the way they might up in Boston! Roland: Dukakis, off campaigning somewhere, could not be found for comment.
