Roland: I am at her door. I am ringing the doorbell...the door is opening...she is peeking out! Mrs. Jackson: A job is very important, Mr. Hedley - not only to one's financial well-being, but also to one's self esteem! When my son was younger, he was always in some sort of trouble, always having problems with the police...despite his education, he never got a real job, just kept moving around from place to place! I said to him, I said, "Son, it's time you settled down and supported your family, met your responsibilities!" for years, he ignored me and just did as he pleased! So when I heard he was finally thinking of taking a job, I was beside myself with joy - and relief! Roland: But do you think he'd make a good mayor, Mrs. Jackson? Mrs. Jackson: Who knows? the important thing is Jesse'd be off the streets!
