Dan Quayle: This is outrageously unfair! Why should I have to refute charges from a convicted drug dealer? Who cares if I smoked pot 20 years ago? Not that I did! I didn't! Everyone else did, though. Besides, I was a kid, not like now! It's not fair! Mr. Jay: No question about that. What are you going to do? Quayle: Well, I suppose I could mount the youthful indiscretion defense, say I was just "experimenting". Jay: Or better yet, you were "conducting experiments"! Quayle: Good! A research spin! Ties in with my interest in the sciences!
