Rev. Sloan: What a day...An absolute miracle! Hmm... I think maybe the intelligent design movement has peaked... B.D.: How come? Rev. Sloan: Well, intelligent design concedes limited evolution. It has to, because micro-evolution is so easily observed in nature. The trouble is, once you make a concession to the empirical world, once you let reason rub up against faith, there's no end to it. Reason's a bully. For instance, show me proof of a miracle, any miracle. As a man of faith, I don't require it, but reason does. As far as reason is concerned, there's never been a miracle! Well, except for the 1980 Olympic hockey team. B.D.: I was about to say - that's on tape.
