Man: Good morning, Chaplain! Chaplain: Hi, Henry. Here to check on Maloney. Man; He just got evaced out, ma'am. Too injured to return to duty. Chaplain: What? Man: His burns were pretty bad, ma'am... Chaplain: Oh, God... Man: You okay, ma'am? Chaplain: Yeah... I'm just so, so tired of seeing my guys take these hits... Man: So who's got your back, ma'am? Chaplain: God, supposedly. But she just sits around doing her nails.
One problem with the ministry, whether military or civilian, is they usually don’t have someone they can discuss their problems with. His comment “who’s got your back” is a lot more true than most people will ever realize.
As for not serving the one true God, I think she’s just trying to make a point. Plus if you study the original Hebrew, the names for God aren’t necessarily specific to one gender.
