Leo is a lot smarter than you might think. Over-analysis of relationships kills them. Just ask Dr. Phil how his marriage is going.

Alex is a Doonsbury! She’s insecure by nature, just like Mike. But Leo is nothing like JJ (or Zeke), and I predict they will be together for a long time.
BTW, I am amazed that Leo and Alex have been together for over a year already.

Somehow, Zipper will get wind of this…

Men are from Mars, the physical part of women are from Venus the emotional part is from Hades.

Paralysis by analysis. When will women ever learn?
[Insert accusations of sexism here]

In Thy Neighbor’s Wife, Gay Talese documents the history of the sexual revolution. Boiled down, it says “Men and women are natural enemies.”
Which shows that babka is right.

Oh, well. It was nice while it lasted.
I think that Leo and Melissa would make a cute couple…

@ clyde, perhaps he’s simply recognizing the old “Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus” mantra.
Jung would explain the phenomena as a reflection of natural preferences on the “Feeling- Thinking” dichotomy. According to Jung’s model, approximately 70% of women are born with a preference to make decisions that create harmony and “fit” (Feelings), while 70% of men are born with a preference to make decisions as a result of their logical compliance with a given set of rules (Thinking). Please note that this indicates only preferences, not skills or abilities. We all have the ability to flexibly access all 8 points of the MBTI tree, although we also know some people who get “stuck in a rut” and refuse to go beyond their preferences.
Alex is in the 30% exception pool, which is not unusual for anyone who attends a school such as MIT and seeks a profession in the hard sciences. I suspect that she and Leo are having this speed bump not because they are different in this area, but are somewhat alike. It is differences in their J/P dichotomy which is causing them trouble, and that’s not gender related.

Problem here they are out of balance. Physically they are newlyweds, legally they are just friends. Need to do the legals. Costs $56 down at the courthouse. And get their own trailer!

We are the same species, different hormones. Life’s real fun is learning to work it our together. Which is why these kids are fun.

actually, cdward, Alex is Trudeau. he is becoming more reflective as he starts the “over the hill” slide. Alex is how he remembers his own emotional maturation. sneakily hidden in a female form to confuse the masses.

I got “stuck in a rut” with a brunette from Psych 101. Required much lubricant.

Gee1a said “What happened to “Post-Jealousy Stage, the next step of the relationship!?”
Listen up ladies: That is what Leo is saying! He is confirming that they will be together for the long run and she has nothing to worry about. They are past minor points being a relationship ender.

Are we there, yet? Are we there, yet?
It’s not about where it’s going, but how it’s going.
Don’t ask for directions, enjoy the ride.
Destinations: dime a dozen. Journeys: priceless.

Ummm…guys are just as prone to overanalyzing.

Alex may be generally a nice person, but she’s also a neurotic and a drama queen. When she was spouting off about guys carrying guns in Starbucks, it wasn’t really about right and wrong, it was about drama for her.
