Mark: You know the irony, Mike? I got married and divorced before either was legal... Mike: Uh-huh. Mark: ... and now that it IS legal, I can't even get a date! Something's wrong with me, Mike! Potential mates see something about me I don't! Maybe I'm meant to be with a woman after all! Mike: Excuse me? Are you high? Mark: Lucky guess.
Is Mark “going Bible” on Mike and us, after all? “Maybe i’m meant to be with a woman.” Adam has no doubts when he first sees Eve:
“This turn hath made amends; thou hast fulfilledThy words, Creator bounteous and benign,Giver of all things fair, but fairest thisOf all thy gifts, nor enviest. I now seeBone of my bone, flesh of my flesh, my selfBefore me. Woman is her name, of manExtracted; for this cause he shall forgoFather and mother, and to his wife adhere; And they shall be one flesh, one heart, one soul.” (Paradise Lost 8.491-99)
