32 years? You’d think he would look forward to a break every now and then.

People seem more faithful these days.

But it also allows you be with your partner in times of medical and financial need. At least in CO you don’t have to be married by a religious group.

Modern cartoonists can learn a lot from these old strips. The fourth panel zinger is both Zonker being his naive self and also just a bit of him making a joke. The other day I (for some reason) heard a little John Cleese in Zonker’s quip. Today (for some other equally indiscernable reason) I hear a little Larry David……

The claim that marriage is a fraud promulgated by religion and government is an attempt to deny responsibility for children produced and the burden imposed on the mother — an attempt to saddle governments and religious organizations with the consequences of their own actions..It does this in great measure by pretending religions and governments were not created by people, but rather were imposed by aliens or the deities it denies exist..Enjoy yourself and let others be responsible for the consequences of your actions. They’ll probably do a better job — even if they do a bad job — than you would have.
