Force of habit. Also, all the other things he’d like to call him were unprintable in a family newspaper in 1976.

What manner of being is man who, knowing the worth of his own freedom to himself, would intentionally enslave another.

Or, fiercely clinging to his own life, desire the end of any living thing.

A marvelous laboratory is the heart and mind of a man, that he can know what it means to be another; what fools are men that we do not heed the proofs of our experiments in compassion.

Wait until Sammy discovers he won’t eat until he indentures himself to earn money, just like most of us white folk.

@AKHendersonThe reason the Irish are indentured servants is because they are paying off a debt. They can look forward to a time that the debt will be paid off and they will be free. Also, many of the black slaves in Massachusetts were reclassified as indentured servants by their owners after the courts ruled slavery unconstitutional.

@montessoriteacherAnd, the Republic survived. I always remembered what Ford said in speech after being sworn in:-…a country of laws and not men.

@montessoriteacherYes, it’s a line I borrowed from my brother. It was a campaign slogan he was going to use when he momentarily thought about running for New York City council.Did you grow up a Cardinal’s fan?

@OlongapojoeSam has no problem with working hard. He just wants to be paid for it and have the freedom to move on elsewhere when he chooses.I know, crazy radical ideas.

LoboGrande: Huh? I don’t know what you are trying to say. Um, I didn’t figure that the guy in the Red Sox garb couldn’t also be visiting, he may very well have been also visiting. I didn’t choose to interact with him, so I really don’t know his life story…

@LoboGrandeMT’s comment about the guy in Red Sox garb has more to do with the 2013 World Series than it does with what he was doing in Seattle.

I guess some forgot about the World’s Series 2013. Too much inside baseball perhaps.

@montessoriteacher There is no such thing as “too much baseball” — inside or any other kind.

@omgomgRondec is one of those people that is waiting for the descendants of slaves to pay the descendants of slave-owners reparations. “We brought you here in chains, whipped you, made you toil in the sun, raped your women, sold your children and you don’t even send us a thank you card?”
