Rev. Sloan: Joan, will you have this man to be your wedded husband, to love, honor, and cherish, so long as you both shall live? Joanie: I will. Rev. Sloan: And will you, Richard, have this woman to be your wedded wife, to love, honor, and cherish, so long as you both shall live? Uh... Richard? Rick: Boy, this is great! We should have done this sooner. Rev. Sloan: Good enough.

Stalling won’t help, Rick.(It’s all legit as long as he signs the marriage license.)

Notice how GBT gives ‘Bick’ the wide eyed innocent eyes of the younger characters (and Boopsie) rather than the narrower (cynical) eyes reserved for the adults.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this Rick’s first trip down the aisle? Joanie is the jaded, been-there-done-that one, but Rick has not been feted thus. He is simply stunned. And give the Rev credit. He knows a “yes” when he hears it.

I thought maybe Rick had a bad case of Attention Deficit Disorder (which he passed on to Jeff). I agree that his remark is equivalent to a “yes.” That’s probably the best he can come up with . . .

Rick hasn’t been paying attention. Not to what is being said. But at least he noticed the being outside and all the people and how pretty Joanie looks.
