Agent: Sir, I can see you've had a long day, so I'l try to get through my questions as quickly as possible. As part of the S.E.C.'s ongoing investigation into inside trading, we noticed a discrepancy in your November accounts. Slackmeyer: I can explain that... No! Agent: Why don't I come back later, sir? Slackmeyer: This can't be happening. Reagan is still president!

I lost $100 betting against Reagan in that presidential election and one way or another, he and his ideological followers have cost me money, ever since !You know the only thing that “trickled down”, don’t you ?

@Jack’s World
The power to increase the federal minimum wage is in the hands of the Republican-controlled Congress—not the president. Obama has consistently called for a higher minimum wage, but the Republicans have blocked it.
Also, you might check your facts about the poor getting poorer—it seems they’ve actually been getting less poor.

Rich getting richer – poor getting poorer? And you live in a market economy that makes this happen? Isn’t that what Communism was supposed to correct? Wait, you guys don’t like Communism. Wait, only those OOOber rich don’t like Communism because that would slow down their getting rich. You guys need to stop electing the rich and concentrate on the candidates running on a shoestring budget because they have no money. Wait, those poor guys aren’t running because they’re too busy trying to survive. Oh dear, what to do, what to do!!

“A rising tide lifts all boats.”
This is, of course, true. Alas, the tricklle-down types aren’t smart enough to realize that the tide rises FROM THE BOTTOM UP!!
Give more to the rich & they hold it.Give more to the poor and they have no choice but to spend it – thus increasing demand, thus growing the economy.With every increaes in the minimum wage, starting with it’s inception, the ownership class has predicted it would tank the economy; in every case the opposite has happened.
And while there is no doubt Obama was far too conservative to be what we needed, you can’t really judge him by his Presidency, as the Republiklans openly said from the start that their only goal was to block everything & deny the first black Pres a legacy.
