Everyone seems less megalomaniac-y before they’re President. It happened (to a lesser extent, of course) to Obama, too.

(But who knows how it would have affected him if Obama had become a multi-millionaire earlier? It was so close to the election, it hadn’t had time to work all its “magic” on his personality.)

In case you didn’t take the suggestion seriously, you should really check out scarecrowpresident.com (suggested by @tulpoeid_).

At the risk of doing a slight bit of spoiling, a crow goes to a scarecrow and asks if he wants to be President. The crow explains he’s been working for every President since Bubba, and he can get (even) a scarecrow elected. At one point, the scarecrow asks why he’s not working for Trump, and he answers “even a crow has standards.”

It pretty much lines up with what my cousin told me. He was a political consultant in DC for several years, working with Democrat politicians. After starting out as a true believer, he ended up saying “a pox on both your houses”, moving out of DC and starting a new career. He agrees (as I do) with the recent statement from Jonah Goldberg, who said that the choice between Hillary and Donald was, basically, what kind of bread do we want on our crap sandwich.
