Watch a few too many M*A*S*H reruns, Trudeau? (Yes, I know this is a decades-old rerun.) Whatever might be said of other wars, the Korean War was absolutely necessary. As the victors over Japan in WWII, America and its allies had a responsibility to protect countries that were formerly under Japanese domination. North Korea attacked South Korea first, so stepping up to defend South Korea (and reverse North Korea’s initial conquest) was very clearly the correct thing to do.

Channeling Harry Truman could be most traumatic. I mean, there was a lot of stuff leading up to it, but when the time came he is the one who said go to the first, second and only uses of combat nuclear devices against a civilian population. I know the reasons and all that, but it still must weigh on your mind.

I agree. Truman ordering 2 nuclear bombings is a lot more significant than getting into the Korean War.
