So let me get this right. She has a cousin who earns like $1 a day at a slave-labor job. And she doesn’t, I don’t know, send her $1 a day out of her pocket, to literally double her income? The first thought is to embarass a multinational company, and not to do right by her relative.
All those people who hired on to companies that were out to change the world, are beginning to find out that when profits are threatened they are now instantly replaceable widgets. Ask the folks as Tesla who just got laid off.
We had a steakhouse here in Madison, Wisconsin, that was co-owned by two guys with assertive personalities. Every business decision had to be arrived by agreement between the two of them. The drawback to such an arrangement was covered in a newspaper feature article about the restaurant’s problems with this memorable line: “They couldn’t agree on the time of day if there were only one clock in the world, and they owned it.”
