Norman: There! I just adjusted the clock on your dashboard! Ralph: Why?? Norman: It was an hour off! You never changed it for daylight saving time a couple of months ago! Ralph: So what? I always knew what time it was because I knew it was one hour later than what the clock said! Norman: Well, now the time is correct! Ralph: But now I'll always be an hour early for everything!!

The clock in my 1960 Chrysler New Yorker has an automatic adjust feature that, when you set the time, also adjusts the speed that the clock runs to compensate for whether it’s been gaining or losing time. THIS is why I NEVER change the clock for that blasted useless daylight saving time!! Because it got set forward a WHOLE HOUR, the clock ‘thinks’ it’s running WAY SLOW and for the next five months I have to keep setting it back a few minutes a week to get it to run on time again!! Then when DST goes off the whole thing happens in reverse and it takes another five months to get it running back on time again!!! One year of THAT and I said NEVER AGAIN!!!Somebody should have strangled Ben Franklin!!!!

I always left the clock on my shower radio a few minutes ahead of the true time. It got me to finish my shower earlier.

It’s Ben Franklin’s fault for inventing daylight savings time.

Does ANYBODY realize how many clocks are in a normal American household? The DVD, the TV set top boxes, & computer clocks (do themselves), the living room clock, the kitchen clock, the two bedroom clocks, the microwave clock, the coffee pot clock, the range/oven clock, the grandfather clock… ARRGGGHHHH!!!!And you get to reset them, and do it all over again…and again…and again! It is so useless. I just wish that they’d drop it—-set it and forget it, so to speak.

Back in IL I still had multiple watches as well as all the others (and none were automatic-I moved from there in 98). I am very glad that we have no DST in AZ (only native Am and a few others), but that makes it difficult to explain my time zone to some family and others.
